Meet the 1st Black Speech Language Pathologist, Ms. Hallie Quinn Brown! Born in 1849 Ms. Brown, was an elocutionist African-American educator, writer and activist lived to be 100. Over the course of her career as an educator she was dean of Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina; principal of Tuskegee Institute in Alabama and a professor at her alma mater Wilberforce University in Ohio. Brown was also a frequent lecturer on African American issues, representing the United States at the International Congress of Women in London in 1899!
